Possible Causes
Cooking without enough oil or liquid in sauté mode, Food stuck and burning on heater plate, Faulty high-limit thermostat, Poor contact between pot and heater
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the cooker. Allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Check cooking method: Ensure you always use sufficient oil or liquid when using high-heat modes like sauté or fry. Avoid preheating empty.
- Clean heater and pot bottom: Remove the inner pot and clean any burnt food from the bottom of the pot and the heater plate. Use non-abrasive cleaners.
- Inspect pot flatness: A warped pot can cause hot spots. Replace the pot if it does not sit flat.
- Ventilation: Ensure vents are not blocked and the cooker has adequate airflow.
- If E14 recurs under normal use, the high-limit thermostat or related protection circuit may be overly sensitive or failing and should be checked by a technician.
