Possible Causes

Blocked ventilation openings, Excessive ambient temperature, Failed or weak cooling fan (if equipped), Thermal fuse partially failing

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool for at least 30 minutes. Do not cover the appliance while it is hot.

  • Check placement: Ensure the multicooker is placed on a hard, flat surface with at least 10 cm clearance around all sides. Do not operate under low cabinets without ventilation.
  • Inspect vents: Check side and bottom vents for dust, grease, or obstructions. Clean with a soft brush or vacuum.
  • Avoid blocking the lid: Do not place towels or covers over the lid during operation.
  • Test again: After cooling and cleaning, run a short low-temperature program. If E9 reappears quickly, internal components may be overheating.
  • Internal fan check (if present): Some Electrolux models have a small cooling fan. With the bottom cover removed (unplugged), inspect the fan for dust buildup or seized bearings. Clean or replace as needed.
  • If the cooker repeatedly shows E9 under normal conditions, the thermal fuse or temperature sensor may be degraded and should be tested and replaced by a professional.
