Possible Causes
Vibrating transformer or inductor on PCB, Worn cooling fan bearings, Loose metal shield or bracket, PWM control noise from heater drive
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before opening the base. Avoid touching PCB components while powered.
- Determine if normal: Some faint buzzing is normal with electronic controls. Compare with manufacturer expectations.
- Check fan (if equipped): Listen near the vents. If the noise changes when tilting the unit slightly (while unplugged and cool), the fan may be worn and should be replaced.
- Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the bottom cover and gently press on large coils or transformers while the unit is briefly powered (only if you are qualified). If the noise changes, secure the component with approved adhesive or replace the PCB.
- If the noise is loud or accompanied by burning smell, stop using the cooker and have the main control PCB inspected.
