Possible Causes
Failed lid NTC sensor, Loose lid sensor connector, Damaged flex cable between lid and body, Moisture intrusion into lid sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool. Do not open the lid if under pressure.
- Dry the lid: Wipe the underside of the lid and the inner lid plate with a dry cloth. If the lid was recently immersed or heavily washed, allow it to air-dry for several hours.
- Inspect inner lid: Remove the inner lid plate (if your Emeril Lagasse model has one) and check for trapped moisture around the sensor area. Dry thoroughly.
- Check for visible damage: Look for pinched or damaged wiring where the lid connects to the body hinge.
- Reset and test: After drying, plug in and run a low-heat program like Slow Cook. If E7 reappears quickly, the lid temperature sensor or its wiring is likely defective.
Replacing the lid NTC temperature sensor or lid harness generally requires partial disassembly of the lid and should be performed by a technician.
