Possible Causes
Lid not fully closed, Debris on lid rim, Faulty lid open sensor, Warped lid preventing full closure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged while cleaning or inspecting the lid.
- Close lid firmly: Open and close the lid several times, pressing down gently while turning to lock. Confirm that the lid is aligned with the lock marks.
- Clean lid rim and body: Wipe the lid rim and the top edge of the cooker body with a damp cloth to remove food residue that may prevent full closure.
- Check gasket seating: Ensure the silicone lid gasket is fully seated and not twisted, which can keep the lid from closing completely.
- Test non-pressure mode: Some models allow Sauté with the lid open. Try Sauté; if it works but pressure modes still show LID, the lid open sensor may be faulty.
If the message persists with a clearly closed lid, the lid sensor or lid switch likely needs replacement.
