Possible Causes
Severely burnt food on heating plate, Blocked air vents, Failed overheat sensor, Inner pot not installed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker immediately. Allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Remove inner pot: Take out the inner pot and inspect the bottom. If food is heavily burnt, soak the pot in warm soapy water and scrub clean.
- Clean heating plate: Wipe the heating plate gently with a damp cloth to remove any residue. Do not use abrasive pads or pour water into the base.
- Check vents: Inspect side and bottom vents for dust or grease buildup. Clean with a soft brush or vacuum.
- Test with water only: After cleaning and cooling, add 2–3 cups of water and run a short program. If OvHt reappears, the overheat sensor or control board may be faulty.
Repeated overheat faults with a clean pot and plate indicate a failing overheat sensor/thermal fuse and require professional service.
