Possible Causes

Blocked steam release valve, Clogged anti-block shield, Pressure sensor tube obstructed, Faulty electronic pressure sensor on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and fully depressurized before touching any valves. Never attempt to remove the lid under pressure.

  • Clean the steam release valve: Remove the steam release cap and valve components as per the manual. Wash them in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly. Ensure the valve moves freely.
  • Inspect the anti-block shield: Under the lid, remove the metal or silicone anti-block shield (if present). Clean any food, foam, or starch buildup from the shield and the steam outlet.
  • Check the float valve: Make sure the float valve pin moves freely up and down and is not stuck with dried food. Clean and reassemble.
  • Test with water only: Reassemble all parts, add at least 2 cups of water to the inner pot, close the lid, and run a short pressure program. If E5 reappears, the pressure sensor or its tubing may be faulty.
  • Professional service: Internal pressure sensor replacement requires opening the unit and should be done by a qualified technician.
