Possible Causes
Open-circuit heating element, Shorted heating element, Failed triac or relay on control board, Burned wiring to heater plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before any inspection. Do not operate a unit suspected of having a shorted heater.
- Visual inspection: Remove the inner pot and inspect the heater plate for burn marks, cracks, or melted areas. Any visible damage indicates the heater assembly should be replaced.
- Check for burning smell: A strong electrical or burnt plastic smell from the base suggests heater or wiring damage.
- Power reset: After cooling, plug the unit back in and attempt a low-heat program (e.g., Keep Warm). If E6 appears instantly and no heating occurs, the heater circuit is likely open or the control board triac has failed.
- Do not disassemble if unsure: Accessing the heater and board requires removing the bottom cover and exposes mains wiring. If you are not trained, do not proceed.
- Repair path: A technician can test the resistance of the heating element and inspect the control board. Replace the heater plate assembly or main control board as required.
