Possible Causes
Damaged or worn silicone sealing ring, Sealing ring not installed correctly, Debris on lid sealing surface, Warped inner lid plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and fully depressurized before removing the lid or seal.
- Inspect the sealing ring: Remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid. Check for cracks, hardening, deformation, or food residue. If the ring is stiff, cracked, or permanently misshapen, it must be replaced.
- Clean the sealing surfaces: Wipe the groove where the ring sits and the top rim of the inner pot with a damp cloth. Remove any oil, food, or starch buildup.
- Reinstall correctly: Fit the sealing ring evenly into the lid groove, ensuring it is not twisted and is fully seated all the way around.
- Check inner lid plate: If your GreenPan model has a removable inner lid plate, remove and clean it, then reinstall securely so it sits flat.
- Test with water: Add water to the pot, close the lid, and run a short pressure program. If E8 persists or steam leaks around the lid, replace the sealing ring with a genuine GreenPan part.
