Display shows E2 and the cooker will not start or stops heating; often appears when trying high-temperature or pressure programs.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.

Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the multicooker and ensure it is completely cool. Do not attempt to open the lid assembly while the unit is under pressure.
Step 1 – Check for obvious lid damage:
- Inspect the lid area where the sensor is usually located (near the steam outlet or inner lid plate).
- Remove the inner lid (if your Klarstein model has a removable inner lid plate) and clean any food residue or moisture around the sensor area.
Step 2 – Inspect lid sensor wiring:
- Open the top cover (on some models you must remove screws on the back or under decorative caps).
- Locate the lid NTC sensor – usually a small probe or disc attached to the inner lid or steam channel with two wires or a flat flex cable going to the main body.
- Check that the cable is not pinched, cut, or broken at the hinge.
- Unplug and re-seat the lid sensor connector on the main PCB.
Step 3 – Test the sensor (if you have a multimeter):
- Disconnect the lid sensor from the board.
- Measure resistance across the two leads; compare with the bottom sensor if they are the same type.
- Open or short readings indicate a failed sensor.
Step 4 – Repair:
- Replace the lid NTC temperature sensor or the entire lid harness if the cable is damaged.
- If the sensor and wiring are intact but E2 remains, the main control PCB may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
