Possible Causes
Damaged silicone sealing ring, Worn or dirty float valve gasket, Steam release valve stuck in venting position, Cracked lid or deformed inner lid plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Allow the cooker to cool and depressurize before inspecting the lid components.
Step 1 – Inspect sealing ring:
- Remove the inner lid (if applicable) and take out the silicone sealing ring.
- Check for cracks, hardening, or deformation. A loose or stretched ring will leak steam.
- Clean the ring and the groove in the lid with warm soapy water, then dry thoroughly.
Step 2 – Check valves:
- Remove the steam release valve and clean it; ensure it moves freely between sealing and venting positions.
- Inspect the float valve and its small silicone cap; replace if cracked or stiff.
Step 3 – Visual leak check:
- Run a short pressure program with only water.
- Observe the lid area for escaping steam around the ring, valves, or hinge.
Step 4 – Repair:
- Replace the silicone sealing ring if it shows any damage or if it is more than 1–2 years old.
- Replace worn float valve gasket and steam release valve as needed.
- If the lid or inner lid plate is cracked or warped, replace the complete lid assembly.
