How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Ensure the cooker is cool and not under pressure before adjusting the lid.

Step 1 – Confirm proper closure:

  • Open and close the lid firmly until you hear the locking click.
  • Check that the sealing ring is seated and not obstructing closure.

Step 2 – Inspect lid detection components:

  • Some Klarstein models use a magnet and reed switch to detect lid closure.
  • Inspect the lid handle area for a small magnet; ensure it has not fallen out.
  • On the body, locate the reed switch or microswitch and ensure it is not loose.

Step 3 – Electrical check (optional):

  • With the unit unplugged, test continuity of the lid switch while opening and closing the lid.
  • No change indicates a failed switch.

Step 4 – Repair:

  • Replace missing or weak lid magnet and/or the lid detection switch.
  • Adjust the hinge or latch so the lid aligns correctly with the body.
