How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: If you see smoke or the smell is very strong, unplug immediately and do not use until inspected.
Step 1 – Initial burn-in:
- A mild smell during first use can be normal; run the cooker empty (with inner pot only) on a short cycle with good ventilation.
Step 2 – Check for overheating:
- Inspect the bottom and sides for discoloration or melted plastic.
- Open the housing and look for burnt wiring or PCB areas.
Step 3 – Repair:
- Replace any burnt wiring harness or main control PCB.
- If the smell persists and you cannot locate the source, contact Klarstein service; continued use may be unsafe.
