Possible Causes
Inner pot not seated properly, Inner pot warped or deformed, Cooking with insufficient liquid, Food stuck and burning on heater area
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Press Cancel, unplug the unit, and allow it to cool fully before touching internal surfaces.
- Check inner pot seating: Remove the pot and reseat it, ensuring it sits flat on the heating plate with no wobble. Do not operate without the inner pot.
- Inspect for scorching: Look for burnt-on food on the bottom of the pot. If present, soak and clean thoroughly. Never scrape the heating plate itself; only clean it gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
- Verify liquid level: For pressure and rice modes, ensure you are using at least the minimum liquid specified in the Our Place manual. Running with too little liquid can trigger overheat errors.
- Check pot condition: Place the pot on a flat countertop. If it rocks or you can see a gap, it is warped and should be replaced.
- Restart test: After cleaning and reseating, run a short low-temperature program (e.g., Keep Warm) with adequate water to confirm normal operation.
If E3 recurs even with proper liquid and a good pot, the overheat sensor or control board may be faulty and should be inspected by a technician.
