Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is cool and depressurized before inspection. Unplug from the outlet.
- Clean steam path: Remove and clean the steam release valve, anti-block shield, and float valve components. Blockages can cause abnormal pressure readings.
- Dry the lid: If the lid or top housing was recently immersed or heavily splashed, allow it to air-dry for 24 hours. Do not submerge the entire lid if it contains electrical components.
- Check for obvious damage: Inspect the area around the steam release and float valve for cracks or melted plastic that could affect pressure sensing.
- Power reset: After drying and cleaning, plug the unit back in and run a water-only pressure test with at least the minimum recommended water.
If E5 returns immediately, the internal pressure sensor or its wiring is likely defective and requires disassembly of the lid or top housing. This should be done by an authorized technician.
