Possible Causes

Inner pot still very hot from previous cycle, Overheat sensor active, Insufficient cooling time between cycles

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Do not add cold liquids to a very hot pot under pressure; allow the unit to cool naturally.

  • Allow cool-down: Leave the lid open (if safe and not under pressure) and let the cooker sit unplugged for 20–30 minutes.
  • Remove inner pot: Carefully remove the hot inner pot using oven mitts and place it on a heat-safe surface to speed cooling. Do not touch the heating plate.
  • Wipe condensation: If there is heavy condensation inside, wipe it away with a dry cloth once the unit is warm, not hot.
  • Restart: After cooling, plug the unit back in and select the desired program.

If the HOT message persists even when the cooker is cool to the touch, the temperature sensor or control board may be misreading and require service.
