Possible Causes
Partially failed heating element, Poor contact between inner pot and heater plate, Warped inner pot, Faulty temperature sensor calibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use oven mitts when handling the inner pot; surfaces may still be hot.
- Check inner pot contact: Ensure the pot sits flat on the heating plate with no rocking. If it wobbles, the pot may be warped and should be replaced.
- Clean heater plate: With the unit unplugged and cool, wipe the heating plate gently with a soft, dry cloth to remove residue that could interfere with heat transfer.
- Use correct lid position: For pressure and rice modes, always cook with the lid locked and steam release set to Seal to retain heat.
- Test with water: Heat a measured amount of water on Sauté and time how long it takes to simmer. Compare to typical expectations (e.g., a few minutes). Extremely slow heating suggests a hardware fault.
If heating remains weak with a good pot and clean plate, the heating element or control board may need replacement.
