Possible Causes

Porous silicone sealing ring absorbing odors, Food trapped under gasket, Infrequent deep cleaning of lid components

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure all parts are cool before disassembly.

  • Remove gasket: Take the silicone sealing ring off the lid and wash it in warm soapy water. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Deodorize: Soak the gasket in a solution of 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water for 30–60 minutes, then rinse and air-dry completely.
  • Clean lid crevices: Remove the anti-block shield and other removable lid parts. Clean all crevices where food vapor can accumulate.
  • Use multiple gaskets: Consider keeping separate gaskets for savory and sweet dishes to minimize odor transfer.

If odors persist after repeated cleaning, replace the silicone sealing ring.
