Possible Causes

Inner pot not seated properly, Cooking without inner pot, Burnt-on food causing hot spots, Faulty thermal fuse or thermostat, Blocked ventilation around base

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool completely. Do not add water to a hot dry heating plate.

  • Check inner pot placement: Ensure the original Oursson inner pot is installed, clean, and its bottom is flat. Reseat it firmly on the heating plate so it makes full contact.
  • Remove burnt residue: Take out the inner pot and inspect the heating plate and central sensor. If there is burnt food or oil, gently clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent. Make sure everything is completely dry before use.
  • Verify adequate contents: Overheat can occur if there is too little liquid. For pressure and stew programs, ensure you meet the minimum fill line recommended in the Oursson manual.
  • Check ventilation: Confirm that the multicooker is on a hard, heat-resistant surface with at least 10 cm clearance around it. Do not place it on soft cloth or near walls that block vents.
  • Thermal fuse/thermostat check (advanced): If E3 appears immediately when starting, the thermal cutoff or thermostat may be partially open. With the unit unplugged and bottom cover removed, visually inspect the thermal fuse and thermostat mounted near the heating plate for discoloration or cracks. Replacement should be done by a technician.
  • Do not bypass safety devices: Never short or bypass the thermal fuse or thermostat; this can cause fire or severe damage.
