Possible Causes

Deformed or incompatible inner pot, Dirty or obstructed weight sensor platform, Faulty weight sensor (load cell) under heating plate, Loose sensor wiring

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before lifting or tilting the cooker to inspect the base.

  • Use original pot: Ensure you are using the original Oursson inner pot or a compatible replacement with the correct weight and flat bottom. Non-original pots can trigger E7.
  • Clean contact area: Remove the inner pot and gently clean the heating plate and central sensor area. Make sure there are no grains of rice or debris that could affect the pot's seating.
  • Check pot bottom: Inspect the bottom of the inner pot for dents or warping. A deformed pot may not press evenly on the sensor; replace the pot if damaged.
  • Base inspection (advanced): With the unit unplugged, remove the bottom cover and locate the weight sensor or spring mechanism under the heating plate. Check for broken springs, bent levers, or loose screws. Tighten or realign as needed.
  • Persistent fault: If E7 continues even with a correct pot and clean surfaces, the load cell or its wiring may be defective and should be replaced by a technician.
