Possible Causes
Loose ribbon cable between control panel and main PCB, Damaged touch panel or buttons, Moisture ingress into control panel, Faulty microcontroller on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before opening the housing or control panel area.
- Power cycle: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect and test. Sometimes static or minor glitches can be cleared.
- Drying moisture: If the panel was recently cleaned with liquid, leave the cooker unplugged for 24 hours in a dry, warm room to allow moisture to evaporate. Do not use heat sources like hair dryers directly on the panel.
- Ribbon cable check (advanced): Remove the top or front cover to access the control panel. Verify that the flat ribbon cable from the keypad/touch panel is fully inserted and locked into the connector on the main PCB. Reseat it carefully.
- Inspect for damage: Look for cracks in the panel, worn buttons, or corrosion on connectors. If the panel membrane is damaged, it must be replaced as an assembly.
- Persistent E9: If reseating cables does not help, the control panel or main PCB microcontroller may be defective. Replacement is a workshop-level repair.
