Possible Causes
Lid not fully closed, Misaligned lid lock pin, Faulty lid position microswitch, Broken lid lock mechanism in handle
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged before manipulating the lid lock mechanism.
- Check closure: Open and close the lid firmly several times. Listen for a clear click from the lock mechanism. Make sure no food or gasket material is trapped between lid and body.
- Inspect lock pin: Look at the metal or plastic lock pin on the lid or body (depending on model). Clean any residue and ensure it moves freely.
- Test lid switch: With the cooker unplugged, gently press the lid lock area while watching the display (after plugging back in). If the 'Lid' message flickers, the switch may be intermittent.
- Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the top cover or handle cover to access the lid lock microswitch. Check that the actuator from the lock pin properly engages the switch. Adjust or tighten screws if misaligned.
- Replace if broken: If the lock lever or switch housing is cracked, replace the lid lock assembly. Do not bypass the lid switch; it is a critical safety device.
