Possible Causes
Steam release valve stuck closed, Blocked safety valve, Excessive food foaming blocking vent, Faulty pressure sensor reading too high
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: If the cooker is actively venting steam, keep hands and face away from the steam path. Unplug the unit and allow it to depressurize naturally.
- Inspect and clean valves: After pressure is fully released and the float valve drops, remove the steam release valve and anti-block shield. Clean thoroughly to remove starch, foam, or food particles.
- Avoid overfilling: For foamy foods (beans, porridge), do not fill above the recommended maximum line. Add a spoon of oil to reduce foaming if allowed by the recipe.
- Check safety valve: Ensure the secondary safety valve on the lid is not blocked or stuck. It should move slightly when pressed from inside (if accessible).
- Test again with water: Run a short pressure cycle with only water. If P2 reoccurs, the pressure sensor or control logic may be faulty.
- Service if repeated: Do not continue using the cooker in pressure mode if P2 persists; have the pressure system inspected by a professional.
