Possible Causes
Residual pressure trapped due to blocked valve, Deformed lid lock mechanism, Food residue in lock channel, Misaligned float valve pin
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the lid open. There may still be residual pressure inside.
- Check float valve: Ensure the float valve has fully dropped. Gently tap the lid near the valve to help it settle.
- Release residual steam: If your model has a manual valve, carefully move it to the vent position with a long utensil. If no steam escapes, pressure is likely gone.
- Inspect lock area: Once you are sure there is no pressure, gently wiggle the lid while lifting the handle. Do not use excessive force.
- Clean after opening: When you manage to open the lid, clean the lock channel, float valve, and surrounding areas thoroughly to remove dried food.
- Service if jam persists: If the lid remains stuck or the lock mechanism is visibly bent, have the lid lock assembly inspected and replaced by a technician.
