Possible Causes
Worn or stretched silicone sealing ring, Food debris on sealing surfaces, Misaligned lid or deformed lid body, Incorrectly installed sealing ring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands and face away from escaping steam. Do not attempt to tighten or force the lid while under pressure.
- Stop and depressurize: Cancel the program, unplug the cooker, and allow it to depressurize naturally until the float valve drops.
- Inspect and clean: Remove the sealing ring and wash it with warm soapy water. Clean the lid groove and pot rim thoroughly. Dry all parts.
- Reinstall correctly: Fit the sealing ring evenly into the lid groove, ensuring it is not twisted. Press it all the way around.
- Check for damage: If the ring is cracked, flattened, or hardened, replace it with an original Oursson sealing ring.
- Test with water: Run a short pressure cycle with water only to confirm the leak is resolved.
