Possible Causes
Blocked steam release valve, Clogged anti-block shield, Stuck float valve, Faulty pressure relief mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power. Do not attempt to open the lid until all pressure has been released and the float valve has dropped. Keep face and hands away from the steam vent.
- Release pressure safely: If the unit is still hot, carefully move the steam release valve to the venting position using a long utensil. Allow all steam to escape.
- Clean pressure components: Once cool, remove the steam release valve, float valve cap, and anti-block shield (if fitted). Wash them thoroughly with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. Ensure all holes are clear.
- Inspect sealing ring: Check the silicone sealing ring for deformation, cracks, or food buildup. Clean or replace if damaged.
- Check float valve movement: Press the float valve up and down from inside the lid. It should move freely and drop under its own weight.
- Persistent E6: If E6 recurs after cleaning, the internal pressure relief or safety valve may be malfunctioning. Do not continue using the cooker. Contact Philips support or a qualified technician for inspection and replacement of the pressure safety components.
