Steam continuously escapes from the steam release valve and pressure never builds.

Safety first: Do not place your hand over the steam vent. Allow the cooker to cool before disassembling the valve.

• Check valve position: Ensure the steam release knob is turned to the sealing position according to the Philips manual.
• Clean valve components: Remove the steam release valve and wash all parts with warm soapy water. Clear any food particles from the small holes.
• Inspect gasket: Check the silicone or rubber gasket under the valve for cracks or deformation. Replace if necessary.
• Replace valve assembly: If the valve is physically damaged or still leaks after cleaning, replace the entire Philips steam release valve assembly.
