Possible Causes

Shorted NTC sensor on heating plate, Damaged sensor insulation causing short to chassis, Shorted wiring harness between sensor and control board, Failed main control board input circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool fully. Do not attempt measurements on a live appliance.

  • Visual inspection: Remove the inner pot and bottom cover. Locate the NTC sensor on the heating plate. Check for melted insulation, crushed wires, or signs of moisture ingress causing a short.
  • Check resistance: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the sensor leads. A reading near 0 Ω indicates a shorted sensor. Compare with expected room-temperature value (typically tens of kΩ).
  • Inspect harness routing: Ensure the sensor wires are not pinched between the chassis and plastic covers or touching sharp metal edges. Re-route and secure with high-temperature cable ties if needed.
  • Replace shorted sensor: If the NTC reads near 0 Ω or shows visible damage, replace it with the correct Polaris bottom NTC sensor for your model. Ensure good thermal contact with the heating plate and proper electrical isolation.
  • Board diagnosis: If the sensor and wiring are good but E2 remains, the main control board's sensor input may be internally shorted. Replacement of the main control board is required; consider professional service.
