Possible Causes

Defective pressure transducer on lid or body, Blocked pressure sensor port with food residue, Damaged pressure sensor wiring harness, Failed ADC circuit on main control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Ensure the cooker is completely depressurized and unplugged before opening the lid or accessing internal parts.

  • Clean pressure sensor port: Locate the small channel or port leading from the inner pot area to the pressure sensor (often near the steam valve). Use a thin brush or pipe cleaner to remove food residue or starch buildup.
  • Inspect sensor and tubing: On some Polaris models, the pressure sensor is connected via a short silicone tube. Check for cracks, blockages, or disconnections. Replace the tube if hardened or damaged.
  • Check wiring: Follow the pressure sensor wires to the main board. Ensure the connector is firmly seated and wires are not pinched or broken.
  • Sensor replacement: If cleaning and wiring checks do not resolve E5, replace the pressure sensor with the correct Polaris pressure sensor module for your model. Mount it securely and reconnect tubing and wiring as originally routed.
  • Control board diagnosis: If a new sensor does not clear the error, the main control board's pressure-sensing circuit may be faulty and require replacement by a technician.
