Possible Causes

Blocked steam release valve, Clogged safety valve or anti-block shield, Faulty pressure sensor reading excessive pressure, Sticking float valve not venting properly

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: If the cooker is hot, do not attempt to open the lid. Move it away from cabinets, unplug it, and allow pressure to drop naturally. Never force the lid open.

  • Clean steam release valve: Once fully depressurized and cool, remove the steam release valve cap and wash it thoroughly with warm soapy water. Clear any food particles from the vent path.
  • Inspect anti-block shield: Remove the metal or silicone anti-block shield under the lid (if present). Clean all holes and channels to ensure free steam flow.
  • Check float valve: Remove and clean the float valve and its silicone gasket. Ensure it moves freely up and down and is not stuck with dried food.
  • Test without food: Reassemble and run a water-only test (2–3 cups of water) on a pressure program. If E6 recurs with clean components, suspect a faulty pressure sensor.
  • Replace pressure sensor if needed: Install a new Polaris-compatible pressure sensor module if the error persists despite clean valves and normal operation.
