Internal Overheat or Dry Pot Protection
E8 error appears and the cooker stops heating; often occurs during long cooking cycles.

Possible Causes
Inner pot running dry (insufficient liquid), Food stuck and burning on heating plate, Faulty overheat sensor or thermostat, Poor contact between inner pot and heating plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool. Do not add cold water to a very hot dry pot; it may warp.
- Check food and liquid level: Open the lid and inspect the contents. If the pot is nearly dry or food is heavily burnt on the bottom, remove the inner pot and soak it separately.
- Clean heating plate: After cooling, wipe the heating plate to remove any burnt residue. Do not use abrasive tools that can scratch the plate.
- Verify minimum liquid: When using pressure or long cooking programs, always maintain the minimum liquid level specified in the Polaris manual (often 1–2 cups).
- Inspect overheat sensor: From the underside, check the overheat thermostat or thermal fuse for signs of repeated tripping. If the thermostat is deformed or the fuse is open, replace with the correct Polaris-rated component.
- Test with water only: After cleaning, run a short program with only water to confirm that E8 does not reappear under normal conditions.
