Steam constantly escapes from the steam release valve during pressure cooking; pressure does not build.

Safety first: Do not place hands over the steam outlet while hot. Allow cooling before disassembly.

• Check valve position: Ensure the steam release knob is set to the "Closed" or pressure position.
• Clean valve: Remove the valve cap and wash all parts. Clear any food particles from the vent path.
• Inspect silicone parts: Replace the silicone cap or gasket on the valve if it is cracked or missing.
• Replace valve assembly: If the valve still leaks when closed, install a new Polaris steam release valve assembly.
