Possible Causes
Moisture intrusion into control panel, Worn or cracked membrane keypad, Loose ribbon cable between keypad and board, Shorted touch sensor IC on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel.
- 1. Dry the panel: If the panel was exposed to steam or cleaning sprays, allow the cooker to dry for 24 hours. Do not spray cleaners directly on the panel.
- 2. Inspect ribbon cable: Remove the control panel cover and check the flat ribbon cable from the keypad to the board. Reseat it carefully.
- 3. Clean contacts: If accessible, gently clean the ribbon contacts with isopropyl alcohol and let dry.
- 4. Replace keypad: If certain buttons never work or the membrane is visibly damaged, replace the keypad / control panel overlay assembly.
- 5. Control board check: If a new keypad does not resolve the issue, the touch controller on the main board may be faulty; replace the main control board.
