Possible Causes

Shorted NTC thermistor on heating plate, Melted sensor insulation causing wires to touch, Moisture or condensation bridging sensor terminals, Failed main control board reading sensor as shorted

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the multicooker and let it cool completely. Do not attempt to operate the unit while E2 is displayed.

  • 1. Dry the unit: If E2 appeared after a spill or after washing the lid/base, leave the cooker unplugged with the lid open for 24 hours to dry. Moisture on the sensor or connector can cause a temporary short.
  • 2. Access the sensor: Remove the inner pot and bottom cover (if you are comfortable doing so). Locate the temperature sensor attached to or near the center of the heating plate.
  • 3. Inspect for damage: Look for melted insulation, crushed wires, or bare copper touching the metal plate. If you see damage, the sensor harness should be replaced.
  • 4. Measure resistance: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the sensor leads at room temperature. A reading near 0 ohms indicates a shorted sensor. Replace the sensor if shorted.
  • 5. Check the connector and board: Disconnect and reconnect the sensor plug at the control board to clear any oxidation. If the sensor tests normal but E2 persists, the main control board may be misreading the sensor and require replacement.
  • 6. Reassemble and test: After replacing the sensor or board, reassemble the cooker, ensuring all screws are tight and wires are clear of the heating plate. Test on a low-temperature program with water in the pot.
