Possible Causes
Insufficient water in inner pot, Very thick food blocking temperature sensing, Temperature rising too quickly due to dry heating, Faulty temperature sensor misreading dryness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool if it has been running dry.
- 1. Check liquid level: Open the lid and verify there is enough water or cooking liquid per the recipe and manual. Most pressure programs require at least 1–2 cups of liquid.
- 2. Stir thick foods: Very thick sauces or starches can insulate the sensor. Stir and add more liquid to thin the mixture slightly.
- 3. Clean pot bottom and plate: Remove the pot and clean any burned-on residue from the pot bottom and heating plate. Residue can cause hot spots and trigger H2O.
- 4. Reset and retry: After cleaning and adding liquid, restart the program. If H2O appears immediately with adequate liquid, the temperature sensor may be faulty.
- 5. Sensor inspection (advanced): Follow the steps under E1/E2 to inspect and test the bottom temperature sensor. Replace if it is out of specification.
