Possible Causes
Steam leak at lid gasket, Steam release valve not set to Seal, Damaged float valve or its silicone cap, Cracked or hardened lid gasket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is not under pressure before removing the lid. Unplug the unit.
- 1. Check steam release position: Verify the steam release valve is set to the Seal position, not Vent.
- 2. Inspect lid gasket: Remove the silicone lid gasket and check for cracks, deformation, or food buildup. Clean it with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry. If it is stiff or damaged, replace it.
- 3. Examine float valve: Ensure the float valve moves freely up and down and that its small silicone cap is intact and flexible. Replace the float valve and cap if worn.
- 4. Check lid seating: Make sure the lid is properly aligned and locked. Look for warping or damage to the lid rim.
- 5. Water test: Add 2–3 cups of water and run a pressure program. Watch for visible steam leaks around the lid. If leaks persist, replace the lid gasket and re-test.
