Possible Causes
Worn or stretched lid gasket, Food residue on lid sealing surfaces, Damaged or misaligned inner lid plate, Cracked lid housing
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep hands and face away from escaping steam. Allow pressure to drop before servicing.
- 1. Inspect gasket: Remove the lid gasket and check for cracks, flattening, or hard spots. Replace if any damage is found.
- 2. Clean sealing surfaces: Thoroughly clean the lid groove, inner lid plate, and pot rim. Even small food particles can prevent sealing.
- 3. Check inner lid plate: Ensure the inner lid (if present) is installed correctly and not warped. Tighten any screws holding it in place.
- 4. Replace lid gasket: Install a new PowerXL lid gasket if the old one is more than 1–2 years old or shows wear.
- 5. Test with water: Run a water-only pressure test to confirm the leak is resolved.
