Possible Causes
Lid lock pin jammed by debris, Worn or broken lid lock actuator, Faulty lid lock sensor, Misaligned lid hinge assembly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and completely depressurized before working on the lid lock.
- Clean the lock channel: Inspect the slot where the lid lock pin engages. Use a soft brush or wooden skewer to remove any dried food, rice, or starch buildup.
- Check lock pin movement: Open and close the lid while watching the lock pin. It should move freely in and out. If it sticks, clean and gently lubricate the pin with a tiny amount of food-safe silicone spray on a cloth (do not spray directly into the cooker).
- Verify lid alignment: Ensure the lid sits evenly on the body and the hinge is not bent. A misaligned hinge can prevent the lock sensor from detecting the locked position.
- Reset the unit: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in and try again. Sometimes the control board needs a power cycle after a lid lock error.
- When to replace: If the lock pin moves freely but E2 remains, the lid lock sensor assembly may be defective and should be replaced.
