Possible Causes
Steam release valve set to vent instead of seal, Misaligned steam release knob, Faulty vent position switch (if equipped), Debris preventing valve from seating
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is not under pressure before adjusting the steam release valve.
- Set to SEAL: Rotate or flip the steam release valve to the SEAL position as indicated on the lid.
- Clean valve seat: Remove the valve and clean the seat area on the lid to remove food residue that may prevent proper sealing.
- Check knob fit: Ensure the knob is firmly attached to the valve stem and not slipping.
- When to replace: If the cooker still reports a vent error with the valve correctly set, the vent position switch (on models that have one) may be faulty and require replacement.
