How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Never force the lid open. Forcing can cause sudden release of hot contents.
- Check float valve: Confirm the float valve is fully down. If not, gently tap the lid to help it drop once pressure is released.
- Vent blockage: Move the steam release valve to VENT and use a wooden utensil to gently wiggle it in case of minor blockage. Keep clear of any steam.
- Cool-down: Allow the cooker to cool for an additional 20–30 minutes; as it cools, pressure will drop and the lock may release.
- After opening: Clean the lid lock channel and steam release components thoroughly to prevent recurrence.
- When to service: If the lid repeatedly jams, the lid lock assembly may be worn or warped and should be replaced.
