Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the multicooker from power and allow it to cool completely before inspection.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Remove inner pot: Take out the removable cooking pot and inspect the metal heating plate and center sensor area. Ensure there is no burnt food or liquid residue around the central sensor boss.
- 2. Clean sensor contact area: Wipe the central sensor area with a soft, slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Ensure the bottom of the inner pot is clean and flat so it makes good contact.
- 3. Inspect for physical damage: Look for dents on the bottom of the inner pot or deformation of the heating plate that could prevent proper sensor contact.
- 4. Access the sensor wiring (advanced): With the unit unplugged, remove the bottom cover. Locate the small NTC sensor clipped to the underside of the heating plate (usually a small metal or ceramic probe with two wires). Check that its connector is firmly seated on the main control board.
- 5. Check for broken wires: Gently tug each sensor wire; if a wire feels loose or breaks, the harness must be replaced. Look for signs of overheating or melted insulation near the heater.
- 6. Reassemble and test: Refit the bottom cover, reinstall the inner pot, and test with a small amount of water. If E2 reappears, the NTC sensor is likely defective and should be replaced.
Note: Replacing the NTC sensor requires opening the unit and sometimes desoldering or unclipping the sensor from the heating plate. If you are not experienced with electrical repairs, seek professional service.
