Possible Causes
Incorrectly installed sealing ring, Worn or hardened silicone ring, Damaged lid sealing surface, Excessive pressure due to blocked vent
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not touch escaping steam. Turn off the cooker and allow pressure to drop naturally before opening.
Step-by-step checks:
- 1. Refit sealing ring: Remove and reinstall the silicone ring, ensuring it is evenly seated all around the lid groove without twists.
- 2. Replace aged ring: If the ring feels stiff, discolored, or loose in the groove, replace it with a genuine Saturn sealing ring.
- 3. Inspect lid surface: Check the metal or plastic sealing surface on the lid for nicks or warping. Lightly clean with a soft cloth.
- 4. Clean vent path: Ensure the steam release valve and anti-block shield are clean so pressure is regulated correctly and not forced past the seal.
Note: Persistent leakage after ring replacement may indicate a warped lid or body, requiring lid assembly replacement.
