Possible Causes
Prolonged high-load operation, Blocked ventilation slots in base, Failing motor cooling fan, Degraded thermal sensor on motor windings
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the appliance from power and allow it to cool. Surfaces and internal components may be hot.
- 1. Allow full cool-down: Remove the bowl and leave the unit unplugged for at least 30 minutes so the motor and heat sink can cool.
- 2. Check ventilation: Inspect the underside and rear of the base for blocked air inlets/outlets. Clean dust and debris from the ventilation slots using a soft brush or vacuum (do not spray liquids).
- 3. Reduce workload: When kneading or chopping dense foods, use smaller batches and shorter intervals. Allow short pauses between cycles to prevent overheating.
- 4. Test with light load: After cooling, reinstall the bowl with 500 ml of water and run at low speed. If C142 appears again quickly, the motor temperature sensor (NTC) or motor cooling fan may be faulty.
- 5. Service recommendation: Internal access requires disassembly of the base and exposure to mains wiring. This should only be done by a qualified technician. Arrange service for inspection of the motor unit and electronics module.
