Possible Causes
Foreign object trapped in mixing knife, Bent or damaged mixing knife, Bowl not correctly engaged with drive coupling, Worn or stripped drive coupling
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect from mains. Ensure contents are cool before reaching into the bowl.
- 1. Remove bowl and inspect: Take the bowl out and empty it. Look for bones, pits, utensils, or other foreign objects stuck around the mixing knife.
- 2. Check knife movement: Turn the knife from underneath using a cloth. It should rotate smoothly. If it grinds, clicks, or is stiff, replace the mixing knife assembly.
- 3. Inspect drive coupling: Look at the drive coupling in the base and the corresponding socket on the bowl. If teeth are worn, melted, or missing, the coupling may slip and trigger a block error.
- 4. Reseat bowl: Reinstall the bowl firmly, ensuring it is fully locked into position. Misalignment can cause the motor to detect a block.
- 5. Test with water: Fill the bowl with 500 ml water and run at low speed. If C144 persists with no load, the motor or gearbox may be damaged and requires professional service.
