Boil Detection / Power Limitation Due to Scaling
C170 error, appliance reports scale or boiling detection issue; heating may be limited

Possible Causes
Heavy limescale on bowl base, Poor thermal contact between bowl and base, Contaminated temperature sensor surface, Firmware limiting power due to abnormal heating profile
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug and allow the bowl to cool before descaling.
- 1. Descale bowl: Fill the bowl with a mixture of water and food-safe descaler (or vinegar solution if permitted by Vorwerk) and run a heating cycle according to the manual. Rinse thoroughly afterward.
- 2. Clean bowl underside: Wipe the underside of the bowl and the contact area on the base with a soft, damp cloth, then dry completely.
- 3. Avoid abrasive cleaners: Do not scratch the base of the bowl; this can affect heat transfer and sensor readings.
- 4. Test with fresh water: After cleaning, heat 1 liter of water to 100°C and observe. If C170 reappears, internal sensors or control logic may be at fault.
- 5. Service if persistent: A technician may need to inspect the temperature sensors, heating element, and control board.
