Possible Causes
Open-circuit grill element, Burnt element terminals, Loose wiring to grill element, Faulty relay or triac on main control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect the oven from power and allow it to cool.
- Access the grill element: Open the oven door and locate the grill element at the top of the cavity. Remove any mounting screws or brackets and gently lower the element to expose the terminals (some models require rear access).
- Inspect terminals and wiring: Look for burnt connectors, discoloration, or loose spade terminals. Clean light oxidation and tighten or replace damaged connectors.
- Test the element: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the grill element. Typical values are 15–40 Ω depending on power rating. An infinite reading indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
- Check wiring back to PCB: Trace the wires from the element to the main control board. Ensure there are no breaks, burns, or loose plugs.
- Control board check: If the element and wiring are good, the grill relay/triac on the control board may be defective. Replacement of the board is usually required.
