Possible Causes

Failed door lock motor or solenoid, Jammed door latch mechanism, Faulty door lock position switch, Wiring fault between lock and control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power. If the door is locked with racks or items inside, allow the oven to cool fully before attempting to open.

  • Manual release (if available): Some Candy ovens have a manual door lock release accessible from the top or rear. Consult the user manual; gently operate the release to open the door.
  • Inspect the latch: With the door open, check the latch hook for damage, misalignment, or heavy grease/carbon build-up. Clean and lubricate lightly with high-temperature-safe lubricant if necessary.
  • Access the lock assembly: Remove the top panel or front control panel (depending on model) to reach the door lock motor/solenoid. Check for broken plastic parts or jammed mechanisms.
  • Electrical tests: Use a multimeter to check continuity of the lock motor/solenoid coil and the position switch. Replace the lock assembly if open circuit or mechanically damaged.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the harness from the lock to the control board for loose connectors or damage.

If the lock repeatedly fails after pyrolytic cycles, avoid using self-clean until the lock assembly is replaced.
