Possible Causes

Open-circuit bottom heating element, Loose or burnt connectors on lower element, Wiring harness damage to lower element, Faulty relay/triac controlling lower element

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Isolate the oven from mains and let it cool.

  • Access the lower element: Remove the oven base panel inside the cavity (if removable). On some Candy models, the lower element is accessed from the rear.
  • Inspect the element: Look for visible breaks or burn marks. Check the terminals for signs of overheating.
  • Test resistance: Disconnect the wires and measure resistance across the element. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element that must be replaced.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the wiring from the element to the control board. Repair any burnt or broken wires and ensure all connectors are tight.
  • Control board: If the element and wiring are good, the control board output may be faulty and require replacement.
