Possible Causes

Defective oven temperature sensor, Stuck heating relay on control board, Shorted sensor wiring, Failed EOC temperature circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off the oven at the breaker immediately if you suspect overheating. Allow the unit to cool fully before inspection.

  • Test sensor: With power off, remove and test the oven temperature sensor for proper resistance (~1080–1100 Ω at room temperature). Replace if out of range.
  • Inspect wiring: Check the sensor harness for shorts to chassis or melted insulation, especially near the rear of the oven where heat is highest.
  • Check relays: Inspect the control board for a relay that may be welded closed (signs include discoloration or burning). If a relay is stuck, the board must be replaced.
  • Verify cooling: Ensure the cooling fan operates correctly and vents are clear to prevent localized overheating.

Warning: Do not continue using the oven until the cause of the runaway temperature is corrected; fire or component damage can result.
