Possible Causes
Worn or bent door hinges, Weak hinge springs, Misaligned door latch, Warped door frame from heat
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off power and allow the oven to cool before working on the door.
- Inspect hinges: Open the door and check the hinges for visible bending, cracks, or looseness at the mounting points.
- Hinge test: Lift the door slightly and see if there is excessive play. If so, the hinges or hinge receivers may be worn and should be replaced as a set.
- Check gasket contact: Close the door on a strip of paper at several points around the gasket. If the paper pulls out easily without resistance, the door is not sealing and hinge or latch adjustment/replacement is needed.
- Replace hinges: Remove the door (most Dacor doors lift off at the hinge arms) and replace both hinges with OEM parts. Reinstall and test closure.
Warning: Oven doors are heavy and glass can break if dropped. Have a helper support the door during removal and installation.
